First off, I should warn that this is my first attempt at drawing something completely in Photoshop and my first attempt at drawing period in many years, so yeah, it's far from perfect.
This is a scene from one of my fics, Breaking Away From a Bitter Destiny [link] The scene is from chapter 18, which happens to share the same title as this piece of art, as this scene is why I named the chapter what I did. Without massively spoiling what happened, here is the scene: "Only if you help me. I won't live life alone anymore now that I have known you." Luke appeared to think his words over. "Fine. If you will give it a try, the least I could do is try myself. I make no guarantees, but I will come with you." Kiran stood up and held his hand out for Luke. "Here, let me help you up so you don't fall." The whole scene is among my favorites that I have written, it is just full of lovely imagery. It will eventually be posted here, but until then it can be read on ff.net also Legal stuff: I do not own Tales of the Abyss or any characters in it, not even the ones that are very changed in my fic. |

I agree with darkangel, you could get really good at this! My first drawing on Photoshop was...*digs up ancient file*... O.O a horrifying wolf-like apparatus. Not sure exactly what it was supposed to be, but it looks like a deformed dolphin fetus to me now ^^" At least yours looks like what it's supposed to. I would have to censor most of my old "art", if you could call it that >.>
I could give you some tips if you need any, but I learned all I know about Photoshop from tutorials on this website and a handy Photoshop CS2 for Dummies book, but most from the former...

Somehow, I think with how "colorful" and determined I made the God-Generals in my fic, I am going to end up drawing many of them (I admit, Cantabile beating up Dist would be a funny thing to draw), so maybe I will get some practice, just because of all my God-Generals who want more love.
A deformed dolphin fetus? Somehow I don't think I want to know.
I know I have a lot I need to get better at though. I suck at drawing little details on the tablet (I actually am not that bad at hands on paper, messed them up on the tablet), shading and lighting I also need serious help with.
